How does it work on the night of the Penny Sale?
The Penny Sale is a fun “lottery” type game in which numbered tickets are sold for one dollar each. You can purchase as many tickets as you like. Donated services or items are raffled off in three series of 100 prizes each.
Each time a winning ticket is drawn, the ticket is placed back in the drum. In this way, it is possible for a winning ticket to be drawn again and again. Whereas it is highly unlikely, each one dollar ticket can win all 100 prizes in the series for which it was purchased. If this would happen, each prize would have cost the winner one penny – hence the name Penny Sale.
Tickets for the following Grand Prizes are sold separately from the lottery tickets. They may be purchased for $5 each or 6 for $25 from Woodstock Rotary Club members.
Note again that admission is free.
Grand Prize winners need not be present.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The fun begins at 7:00 p.m.
Refreshments are available.
