INTERACT CLUB of WOODSTOCK
Activities report: 10 January 2006
Fundraising – We are currently working on three fundraisers. Our largest is the up-coming student-faculty talent show that will take place Friday February 3d (pending approval by theatre directors). This date has been postponed because of scheduling issues with the auditorium. Our minor fundraisers include selling donuts every Friday morning to students and faculty (everybody anticipates this morning – and some good words are said about the club!). Also we are starting a half-court shooting contest at the home basketball games during halftime, with prizes and a charge per shot.
Publicity Committee – We are currently making posters for the talent show and auditions. A few members will be there to supervise the auditions, and also MC the show itself.
Spending Committee – currently we are pooling our money for worthy causes. Last month we donated a large sum of money to a janitor in our school whose wife is suffering from cancer. This money will help with the cost of gas as he travels from Woodstock to Burlington every day to see her.
On another note, the club is actively involved in monthly dinners at the Universalist Church serving meals and cleaning up afterwards. Also members are attending the Rural Development Committee meetings that are held once a month.
That’s it for now.
